I have cool friends. These guys are crushing the small town studio game.
I was able to talk to them about how they GET new clients, but also, how they KEEP their old clients.
This is a rebroadcast from a live call that we did with our members at http://mixcoachmember.com...
Do you realize how much we look to shapes to give us direction? Road signs, warnings, even buttons on your DAW tell you things that don't need words to understand.
I want to start a 3 part training series to show you how you can use some of these shapes to take your mixing to the next level.
Join me today at 11 Central and we'll dive in to the shapes of your mixes.
For me to see your comments live, you'll either need to be on Facebook or Youtube.

See you there!
I have loved the sound that the SSL E channel can add to my Kick and snare for many years now. So in this video, I though I would break down exactly what I do to the kick drum.
I hope this helps you to make your mix more punchy and have more attitude! Video
Melodyne vs Autotune - Which tuner is best? Be sure and Check out my Melodyne Cheatsheet at http://mixcoach.com/melodyne
When you are vocal tuning, is it Melodyne vs Autotune, Autotune vs Melodyne or do you use Waves Tune? It's a question I get often.
Today, I want to break down the differences in each one (and there are differences) so that the next time you are recording in your home studio, you'll make the right call. Hang out til the end and I'll show you what I do on most every vocal when I'm mixing. Also, a blooper.
Adding an 808 (or some low sine wave) to a kick drum is a solid way of adding controlled low end to your mix. The new Harrison AVA Drum Flow Plug in is a great way to do that... plus the killer gating, compression and 32C EQ.
Everyone is looking for the ultimate snare channel. A channel that keep you from having to trigger the most difficult drum... the snare!
Harrison has just released the AVA Drum Flow plug in and I think it's pretty sweet!
Check out today's video. I'll run through this plugin!
Having a creative brain is a blessing - I'm sure you think so too because chances are (since you are reading this) you have one too.
I'm going to show you two advantages of having a creative brain and 2 downsides and how to hack your brain to help you get stuff done!

I had a great question in the comments of one of my previous youtube videos. He was asking why there were no more "bass tone" videos on Youtube.
When I mix, I barely do anything to the bass... and what I do is probably optional in most cases. This video will explain why that is.
